Our office consists of Dr. Gary B. Kaplan, Dr. Russell A. Blair, Dr. Andre M. Fabien and Lisa Kuhen, CNP, DNP.
Gary B. Kaplan, M.D.
Dr. Kaplan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then received his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY in 1982. Dr. Kaplan then completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh’s Montefiore Hospital in 1985. Dr. Kaplan went on to receive further specialization at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has been in private practice since 1987. Dr. Kaplan is the director of the intensive care unit at Lake West Hospital and chairs the intensive care unit committee. He has served as chairman of the department of medicine and secretary treasurer of the medical staff. He is currently vice president of the medical staff since 2018.
Russell A. Blair, M.D.
Dr. Blair is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and attended medical school at the Medical College of Ohio, University of Toledo. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University and went on to complete his fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He began practicing pulmonary critical care medicine with Lake Health in 2009.
Andre M. Fabien, M.D.
Dr Fabien earned his medical degree from Case Western University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care.
His special interests include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), lung nodules, pneumonia, lung cancer, endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy and critical care.
Lisa Kuhen, DNP, CNP
Dr. Kuhen received a doctorate of nursing practice from Ursuline College and is Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds a Certificate of Authority to practice as such by the Ohio Board of Nursing. She received her first undergraduate degree from Lakeland Community College in 1984 and then a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio where she went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing. She began practice as a Registered Nurse in 1984, nurse practitioner in 2003, and has been in private practice with Dr. Kaplan since 2005 with a special interest in management of sleep apnea and pulmonary diseases. In addition to clinical practice, she is an assistant professor in the graduate nursing department at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio and has worked as a consultant in the area of sleep apnea.
